Desgin blog- week 3

Hey everyone! Another week, another big leap forward. Things are really starting to pick up, and it feels like there’s always something new popping up right when I think I'm getting the hang of it. It's definitely a lot, but honestly, it's been super exciting seeing the pieces come together little by little. Starting from just learning the basics of HTML was already a trip getting used to writing out <h1> and <p> and seeing stuff show up on the page was cool on its own. But now, diving deeper into HTML and getting even more into CSS, it’s like a whole new world opened up. I’m not just throwing content onto a blank page anymore, now it’s about making it actually look good and feel right. One of the biggest things that clicked for me this week was learning about divs and how they work with CSS to organize everything. Before, my pages felt a little random and messy, but now I’m starting to actually group things and lay them out in a way that makes sense. Also...

UI/UX The difference!

Hey there! I just started learning about UI/UX design, and honestly, I had no clue what it meant at first. So, I figured I’d share what I’ve learned so far in case it helps other beginners like me. UI stands for User Interface this is all about how a website or app looks . Think buttons, colors, fonts, and layout. UX stands for User Experience   this is about how a website or app feels to use. Is it easy to navigate? Do things make sense? Does it load fast? Together, UI/UX design focuses on making websites or apps not only look good but also work smoothly for the people using them.  Tips  Keep it simple Don’t overload the page with too much stuff. Clean designs are easier to understand. Use clear navigation Make menus easy to find and labels easy to understand. People shouldn't get lost. Make it mobile-friendly A lot of people use phones. Make sure your site works well on small screens. Use readable fonts Fancy fonts can be cool, but if people can’t rea...

Creativity Blog - Week 3

Welcome back y’all to my blog! In today’s weekly creativity exercise blog I’ve got something fun and funky to stir up your imagination. No long intros today, so let’s just dive right into it! This one’s super simple but surprisingly cool once you get into it. It’s called “Lost and Found in Space” , and the idea is to create a story around anything that you can think of, that is in space. All you need is a pen, some paper and a mind ready to blast off. Instructions 1. Choose a Random Item Found Floating in Space 2. Imagine Who or What Lost It Alien race? Time traveler? A bored astronaut? 3. Answer These Creative Prompts: What does this item tell us about who (or what) lost it? Why was it floating out there in the first place? Is it just trash or something far more important? What happens when a human finds it? What bigger mystery or adventure does this discovery kick off? 4. Let the Story Unfold Write it like a short story, a journal entry, a sci-fi movie pitch...

Copyrights and why they are imporant

To begin with the subject, Copyrights are important to not only designers, but to tons of creators and inventors. But to keep on track copyrights play an important role in protecting your creative work as a designer. Whenever you create something original—whether it's a logo, illustration, or layout—it's automatically protected under copyright law. This gives you the legal right to control how your work is used, shared, or reproduced. For designers, this means having ownership over your creations, making sure you’re properly credited, and having the ability to earn from your work if others want to use it. It’s a way of saying, “This is mine,” and having the law to back it up. Even if you’re just getting started, understanding copyright helps you protect your ideas and build a more secure creative career.

design blog- week 2

Hello again! This week has been a dozy. With alot of the new things getting introduced and alot of cool projects to introduce them into, ive got alot of stuff building up on the my plate. And coming from the beginning and basics of html is going to be a crazy week learning alot of the new things we've been shown. But as I’ve been learning more about web design, things have started to click—especially after moving beyond just the basics of HTML and CSS. At first, it was all about getting content on the page using tags like <h1> , <p> , and <img> . I learned how to source images from both my computer and the web using the <img> tag, which made my pages start to feel more complete. Then I got into CSS, which really changed the game. Being able to control the look of everything—fonts, colors, spacing—made a huge difference. One of the cooler things I’ve tried is making navi...

creativity exercise - week 1

Welcome back to my blog! Today's weekly creativity exercise is back and starting off on a new month with new projects and new things to show y'all. In this weeks short exercise blog I wanted to showcase a few of my favorite exercises when I first started to get into photography.   1. Make Your Own Sandwich This exercise is bound to get all those creative juices flowing. As the name suggests, participants are to get a blank piece of paper and simply make a sandwich that reflects their personality.   2.  Concentrate On Quantity Participants will each be given a piece of paper with 30 empty circles on them and a pen. They will then get 3 minutes to fill up as many circles as they can — the idea here is to focus on quantity, not quality and to prevent yourself from censoring and trying to perfect an idea that is “not adequate”.     3.  One + One = One Before you start, you’ll need to get print out some random...

Design blog - week 1

To begin with my design blog. I wanted to state a couple of the feelings that I had with laying my eyes on the course to begin with. At first I was quite intimated with how the course was intentionally portrayed, but with being intimated also brought a lot of curiosity for the course and how I can actually use this to better myself when I actually took a hold of the course and got to do it first hand.          With first class presentation, I was honestly surprised. The start of how to get into HTML and the basic were very simple at first glance. While I was still intimated I started to see a lot of the creative and fun aspects that comes with HTML. Simple and complex at the same time, which is what really drove it home for me. The greatest of the first initial presentation was the actual follow along and to the creation of our first web pages. With a few simple lines of code an...

Creativity Excerise - Week 4

Image
Hello y'all! Welcome back to my blog! Today's weekly creativity fun, is in session, and with all of my weekly creativity exercises I make sure to have the most fun and most creative. In today's short creativity exercise I wanted to show you guys a new little exercise that I've been having fun with for the last couple of days.            This exercise isn't one curated to be more on the professional side of things, but I've had the most fun and most creativity when it came down to the exercise. You might be asking yourself what is the exercise and it is something I like to call the "filter roulette" the exercise itself can be very simple to understand. You put a random number generator with the number of filters there is in the filter gallery, and roll a random number, and I'm pretty sure where you can go from there. This exercise brought me some pretty cool designs, but none really came out li...
